Great Harwood Show
Top Venue. Since the move to the New Showground there is now much more room for the provision of larger marquees, more rings for the ever-expanding horse section, a permanent arena for displays, and more agricultural and community–related events, with local produce, crafts, stands and children’s competitions. The aim of the Society is to build on the success of the move by continuing the improvements to the land, particularly the drainage, the parking area and the roadways. The society also hopes to hold more events during the year to make the best use of the venue.

In 2010, for the first time, a sheepdog trial was held on the lines of 'One Man and his Dog'. This is a qualifying trial for the national finals and runs again this year. The Bowley Hill Trail Race is run over a five and a half mile course with prizes for all class winners. The Farriers Shoe Making Competition was a huge success last year where Horseshoes were made from the back of the farrier's vans. The animal displays, shows and c omp e t i t i o n s w i l l b e a s fascinating as ever. See you there.
