his 15 or so years with Sgt. Dawn Roberts he had been through just about every law enforcement experience imaginable, from the harrowing to the light-hearted. Roberts, who took a medical re-
tirement after 15 years on the job with the Woodfin Police Depart- ment, may be best remembered in her post for her benevolence and her efforts working with the town’s youth and elderly.
The Town of Woodfin honored
Roberts on Tuesday (Jan. 18) in front of much of her family and fellow officers. Roberts has been instrumental
in the town’s Christmas program that delivers presents, clothes and money for heating costs to underprivileged Woodfin fami- lies. She said she would remain in-
volved with those activities with the town. Roberts, who has undergone
multiple knee surgeries, said the pain had simply taken its toll.
She thanked the Woodfin Board of Aldermen, town officials and fellow officers for their support.
In addition to receiving an hon-
orary plaque, a gun and a badge, in a jocular manner, Woodfin
