t. Andrew and St. Francis is a Church of England School, founded on Christian beliefs, and is inclusive in its welcome to all in the parish. By working together in a secure, enjoyable and supportive environment we encourage positive behaviour, celebrate success and achievement, inspire a love of life-long learning and encourage all members of the school to reach their full potential.

St. Andrew and St. Francis is a Voluntary Aided School of the Church of England. As a voluntary aided school we need to fund 10% towards capital costs within the school such as building maintenance and projects. To meet this obligation, governors are significantly dependent on donations from parents. All parents are, subject to personal circumstances, asked to donate at least £12.00 per term, per child in recognition that they are selecting a voluntary aided school to provide an educational experience for their child that is based on Christian faith and belief.
Assemblies are held every day. During this time together there is an opportunity for prayer,
thought and reflection. We invite parents to share in the assemblies, where we celebrate children’s good work and achievements. Every Friday, Mass is celebrated in school with Key Stage 2 children, by the Parish Priest. At different times each year children attend Mass in the Parish Church, especially at festival times. Class prayers are said before lunch and at the end of each day.
Religious Education is taught throughout the school according to a syllabus agreed by the Governing Body. The faith and practice is that of the universal Church, as the Church of England has received it. We aim to develop an understanding of the origins, beliefs and traditions of the Christian Faith, as well as giving children an opportunity to reflect and grow spiritually. We aim to develop an understanding of the beliefs held by members of other World Faiths. By choosing this school for their child, parents/carers are expected to uphold the religious ethos of the school.
Parents may withdraw their child from Assembly, Mass and Religious Education lessons. They must give notice to the Head Teacher in writing, and must discuss with the Head Teacher appropriate provision for the child while he or she is withdrawn.
