his booklet will tell you something about us and our school, and answer some of your questions. At the back you will find current information and updates which the school issues each year.

A school dedicated to St. Andrew was set up for the education of the children of the new parish of Willesden Green in 1885. When this parish and its neighbour, St. Francis Gladstone Park, were joined in 1983 the school became St. Andrew and St. Francis School. For many years the school was divided between two sites, and the former Junior School buildings can still be seen opposite St. Andrew’s Church in the High Road. We are fortunate now to have the whole school in Andrew Building and Francis Building on a safe and enclosed site on Belton Road.

We welcome children and staff from many backgrounds and experiences. Some of today’s parents were themselves pupils, as indeed were some grandparents! We value those links across the generations.

Our school holds traditional Christian values to be very important. We encourage honesty, respect, truth, faith, caring for other people and sharing with them, and a sense of responsibility for each other. We want to promote these values in school and at home, and so enable all our children to make a positive contribution to their world.

We expect our children to join in the life of the school, and we expect the support and enthusiasm of the parents.

The school is for children aged 3 to 11 years old and is arranged into three phases, in line with government directives: The Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception); Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and Year 2); and Key Stage 2 (Year 3 – Year 6).
