The school believes that homework is an essential part of genuine pupil progress. By encouraging concentration on work at home, pupils will develop the practice of independent study and the qualities of perseverance and self-discipline. Children will be asked to undertake homework tasks according to their age, including : • Read at home each evening for a period of not less than 10 minutes;

• Learn spellings and High Frequency Words for weekly assessments;

• Learn multiplication tables and number bonds to support mental calculations;

• Complete weekly English or mathematics tasks; • Complete research for topic work;

• Complete unfinished or unsatisfactory work at the request of the teacher.

Parents/carers support is essential for the successful completion of homework.
