• WoW Certificate - All students will be able to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and how they want to make the transition into the world of work through LJMU’s WoW skills process. This consists of 4 simple stages:
• Stage 1 – Online virtual interview to check your current WoW® skills (which are Self Awareness, Organisational Awareness and Making Things Happen).
• Stage 2 – Skills developments to plug any gaps identified (through attending workshops delivered at the Graduate Development Centre, your University programme, work experience, voluntary work, membership of University clubs and societies, etc).
• Stage 3 – Production of a WoW Statement (similar to one used in applications for jobs, etc).
• Stage 4 – Employer interview at the Graduate Development Centre (GDC).
At the end of the WoW process successful graduates will be presented with a WoW® skills certificate carrying the logos of employer partners such as Ford Europe, Sony and GKN and United Utilities, evidencing their abilities to prospective graduate employers.
Both Graduate Skills and Work-Related Learning are embedded in your degree programme and will give you a head start when considering life after university. The WoW certificate is designed to advance your WoW skills and help you to stand out from the crowd. It's free, employer-verified and only available to students who are studying at LJMU.
The Graduate Development Centre, LJMU’s careers facility, is based in the city centre and is the main venue for WoW and career skills workshops and employer events. It is also home to the WoW Delivery Team, comprising careers advisers, employability advisers and trainers.
For more information about the GDC or WoW see
