Over the weekend of 15th-16th


January APAT held the fi nal national championship event in its fourth season, sponsored by Betfair, with the Southern European Amateur Poker Championships. The €90 NLH event was held at the Gran Casino, Costa Brava in


Spain. The fi eld saw 140 runners playing to win €3,400 as part of a €12,600 prize pool. The top prize went to Spaniard Oriel Sanchez who was also awarded a GUKPT main event seat by the sponsors.

an der spanischen Costa Brava statt. Der Preispool, um den es für die 140 Teilnehmer ging, belief sich auf €12.600; die Siegprämie betrug €3.400. Es gewann der Spanier Oriel Sanchez, der als Zusatzbonus von den Sponsoren noch ein Ticket für ein Main Event der GUKPT erhielt.

The 10th annual European Poker Awards, sponsored by ACF Gaming, will again take place in Paris – this year on February 13th.


Since the original list of nominations was


announced two additional names have been added to the Europe’s Leading Lady category. Leo Margets Perez of Spain and France’s Vanessa Hellebuyck join the line up with Norway’s Annette Obrestad and the UK’s Liv Boeree. In addition there is a new judge on the eight person


jury, Leon Groenewoud, Head of Events at Vienna’s Montesino poker room.


And the gala dinner and presentation ceremony


is being moved to the nearby Queenie’s nightclub so that more guests can be accommodated. After the presentations there will be a “free-bar” party from 10pm to 2am at the nightclub.
