Germany ruled with an outright win for over €60,000 from a fi eld of 114 players who shared a pool of €216,000.


This year’s event is likely to attract even more


runners as the CAPT gains in popularity. One of the reasons is that the two day main events of the tour are always held on Saturday and Sunday which enables recreational players who work during the week to take part. But for those who want to make a week of it in the city where Mozart was born there is a full programme of support events. These are all deep stack freezeouts with buy-ins ranging from €200 to €1,000. Players seeking a cheap way in to the main event can do so through the €200 super satellite being staged on the Wednesday of the tournament week.

fi eld limits is shown opposite. Advance registration is available on the Internet for those who wish to ensure obtaining seats. These can be booked on the offi cial web site for ten per cent of the buy-in. Hotel reservations can also be made on the site.

AWAY FROM THE TABLES


Nightlife enthusiasts looking for lively bars and restaurants will fi nd plenty to choose from in the


Altstadt (Old Town or City Centre) particularly in the Rudolfskai and Giselakai areas. For day time sightseers there are a couple of must-visit spots. One is the Fortress of Hohensalzburg,


a 900 year old building which cannot be missed, and is considered to be the most well- maintained Medieval Fortress in Europe.


The other is the two homes of Mozart – one the tiny apartment where he was born and the other the massive house which he bought with the proceeds of his musical success. Good news for those fl ying in is that


the small and effi cient airport is close to the city centre and the 120 plus hotels which range from extremely cheap to luxurious. Something for everyone.

positions in all competitions with a buy-in of €200 or more. The winner at the end of the year receives a


€4,000 seat for the grand fi nal in Baden and three €2,000 seats for the main events the following year. Those fi nishing from second to 31st all win


seats in a three table satellite at Baden with three €4,000 places in the Baden main event.


The CAPT has now set up a Facebook page to keep tour fans up to date with what is going on.
