SC♠NDINAVIA BY SUNE HOLST ISILDUR1 REVEALED

For more than a year highrollers and railbirds all over the world have been asking, just who is Isildur1? During the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure the

answer fi nally came, and it was no surprise, that it was the 20-year-old Swedish pro Viktor Blom who is the face behind the nickname.

Blom explained that he chose to join PokerStars because it is the biggest site in the world, and they do things right. He also told about how a few years ago on the iPoker network he turned $2,000 into $2million in just three weeks playing under the nick Blom90.

Since Isildur1 joined Team PokerStars Pro he has played some SuperStar Showdown matches against Isaac Haxton (He lost $41,000), and then Tony G in a second match, winning $44,820 over 2,500 hands of no limit hold’em and pot limit Omaha.

On the daily Pot Limit Viktor “Isildur1” Blom Omaha cash tables he has been meeting another newly signed PokerStars-Scandii, Theo

Jørgensen, and so far the Dane has come out on top. Hopefully we will see the two of them compete in a SuperStar Showdown match soon. This seems doubtful, as Theo Jørgensen on several occasions has told me that he could die of stress if he should ever play more than one table at a time. Nevertheless I have seen him multi-tabling four tables at PokerStars, and even though he timed out on two of them, this gives me some hope to see him up for the challenge.

FIVE SCANDII NOMINATIONS

Well, I’m very pleased to see some Scandiis have been nominated for European Poker Awards., even though I miss Gus Hansen on the list. A WSOP Bracelet and a win in Poker Millions 2010 are some very fi ne performances and I think he had deserved at least to be on the list of nominees. In the category, Internet Player of The Year, I really hope, the award will go to Andreas 'Skjervøy' Torbergsen. He has been outstanding in the cash games on PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. On both sites he has more or less been crushing all opponents who have dared to play Pot Limit Omaha against him.

“ONLY FAIR THEY CALL ME A FISH!”

Even though Gus Hansen made quite a comeback in the last months of 2010 he still fi nished the year down more than $1.5million. To the Danish poker news site, Acemag.dk he said that maybe the year result is better than in 2009, but still he is not satisfi ed as long as he keeps loosing overall on the nosebleed tables. He says he has played too many sessions without the necessary concentration and discipline.

Also, he admits that Pot Limit Omaha isn’t the discipline where he has his biggest strength. People have advised him to quit Omaha, but so far he hasn’t been smart enough to do so. He knows himself well and that he will fi nd himself at the Omaha tables again in 2011 as he said “It’s only fair they call me an Omaha fi sh!”
