Stanley’s unbeaten run came to an end mid January when Play off rivals Shrewsbury took all three points at the Crown ground. This was a huge disappointment especially after taking three points away at Cheltenham, also in the race for a play off place. At the time of going to press, John Coleman’s boys were hoping to pick up three valuable points at struggling Hereford and narrow the 5 point gap to those precious play off places. The Club has introduced the “Back The Boys” campaign to help the club in their battle for promotion. Martin Edmundson from the Commercial department is keen to coordinate everybody’s efforts and will be reporting the progress in The Local Herald between now and the end of the season. Watch this space. Come On Stanley!
SOLAR ENERGY - SIMPLIFIED| How do photovoltaic (PV) cells work? PV cells are panels you can attach to your roof or walls. Each cell is made from one or two layers of semiconducting material usually silicon. When light shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers. The stronger the sunshine, the more electricity is produced. PV cells come in a variety of shapes and colours, from grey "solar tiles" that look like roof tiles to panels and transparent cells that you can use on conservatories and glass. The strength of a PV cell is measured in kilowatt peak (kwp). that's the amount of energy the cells generate in full sunlight. The benefits of solar electricity cut your carbon footprint: Solar electricity is green, renewable energy and doesn't release any harmful carbon dioxide (C02) or other pollutants. A typical home PV system could save around 1 tonne of C02 per year - that's around 25 tonnes over its lifetime. Cut your electricity bills: sunlight is free, so once you've paid for the initial installation your electricity costs will be greatly reduced. A typical home PV system can produce around 40% of the electricity a household uses in a year. Sell electricity back to the Grid: if your system is producing more electricity than you need, or when you can't use it.
This modern technology is incredible. Take banking for instance, you don’t need to make an appointment to see a real person any more. You just key in a few details on the computer and you can have your loan application rejected in seconds, and in the comfort of your own home. Amazing.

I just heard a credit card belonging to my wife has been stolen, but I’m not going to report it. It turns out the guy who stole it is spending a lot less than the wife. John Prescott.
