the industry for show enhancements. And let’s not forget that in many cases, as with the G2E family of events, Reed events deliver world-class education that is unmatched in the industries they serve.

Can you outline some of the successes Reed has enjoyed elsewhere in other industries?

Courtney Muller: Yes, Reed has seen success with industry events that occur around the world. A few examples would be our events in the security space in the U.S., Brazil and Russia, and our Interphex (pharmaceutical manufacturing) events in China, Japan, the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Reed also has book publishing events in London, New York, Sao Paulo, Paris and Tokyo. The list is long, and I could mention many more industries in which Reed works on behalf of businesses in many regions around the world.

The benefits to our customers of working with a large global company are countless. We have huge amounts of sales and marketing resources to pull from, as well as deep roots in the industries we serve. Because we’re such a large company that operates in so many parts of the world, we have a keen understanding of what is needed to produce a show for the local market in which it lives. While some in the gaming industry may view Reed as American, we are actually part of Reed Exhibitions, which is based in the U.K., and a division of Reed Elsevier, which is a Dutch and U.K. company.

History has shown that where a single company has run all the major exhibitions with no opposition, costs have gradually incrreased. How do you ensure fair pricing and value for money?

Courtney Muller: AGA and Reed have always been committed to fair pricing and generating the best possible return on investment for all of our attendees and exhibitors at all of our events. Many of the major exhibitors sit on the AGA board and have a voice in how the show is operating, which creates another check to control prices in favor of the show’s exhibitors and attendees.

We see another show in our G2E family of events as an opportunity to control costs even further and provide greater value for those companies that exhibit at multiple G2E shows. Most importantly, we believe, is the fact that the profits from G2E events are recycled back into programs that benefit the entire gaming industry – responsible gaming programs are a good example.
