along with a clock, memory and level and tamper detection sensors. This third product area gives clients the ability to record and access data based on historical events concerning the wheel for even greater levels of security. The fourth area, gaming chips, is new for us and is the only one where we don’t actually manufacture the product ourselves. We met Icon Poker from Kansas in the United States in November of 2009 and found its products to be extremely high-quality and comparable to our own standards. We have since sold over one million wheel checks and cash chips from a standing start and this has been a pleasing growth area for us. Icon Poker is run by two brothers, Aaron and Jay Rutler, who, like us, are extremely passionate about what they are doing and incredibly resourceful in terms of their engineering and research and development. As a result, the product has really leapt forward and is a superb addition for any gaming environment.
Does being based in the UK present any special challenges when it comes to being able to sell your products to a global customer base at competitive prices?
The cost of manufacturing is an issue no matter where you happen to be based but a large part of our roulette wheels are made from high-grade aluminium and this costs the same all over the world. The costs of employment may be more in the UK when compared with other nations but we are benefitting from a strong Euro at the moment so we are extremely competitive when exporting. In addition, I think that our overseas clients get a tremendous amount of confidence buying Cammegh roulette wheels knowing that we are so singularly focused on making the best roulette wheels in the world while our simple values of quality, value and security with a personal service are free of charge irrespective of the exchange rate.
What new products will visitors to the upcoming ICE 2011 show in London be able to see on your stand?
In addition to our Mercury 360 RRS roulette wheel, another exciting innovation we will be showing is Double Shot, which is currently being reviewed by the Gambling Commission and is set to start UK trials very soon. Double Shot uses the speed of the ball and the speed of the rotor, which are both random and minutely different every time, to create a second random number between zero and 36. So, now on our standard Mercury 360 wheels we are able to generate multiple results not by utilising

software but by using the speed of the ball and the speed of the rotor as spun by the dealer. Using Double Shot, our customers can offer a very wide range of side bets and this was received with excitement and interest at the recent G2E show in Las Vegas. It is particularly attractive to electronic betting terminal manufacturers and provides an easy addition to the live table game increasing productivity, game excitement and ultimate house edge.
Finally, how will Cammegh Limited define success going forward over the next five to ten years?
I think success for us will be in continuing to focus our minds on manufacturing high-quality innovative products while staying loyal and true to our core strengths. The main reason we have been successful is because we’ve combined innovation with a no compromise approach to quality. Richard and I get a tremendous kick out of coming up with new products that are accepted by the gaming market as it shows we understand our customers’ needs and respond to them. That is a success in itself and a wonderful feeling of satisfaction. In commercial terms, success is measured by profitability and we are careful to plough our profits back into the business in order to make our company stronger and even more competitive and we will continue to do this moving forward.
