Bovington and Lulworth 07 Antenatal / Postnatal Care
Antenatal and postnatal care is provided on Bulford Camp by a team of Midwives working with the Doctors. The Antenatal clinic is held in Health House at the Haig Centre. The timings are:
Wednesday afternoon Thursday afternoon Friday morning
1330-1445 hrs 1400-1600 hrs 0930-1045 hrs
Appointments to attend these clinics can be made through the Group Practice. Postnatal care is provided by the Midwives in your home during the 28-day period following discharge from hospital, after the birth.
In all aspects of midwifery the Midwives work in conjunction with the Group Practice - Bulford Camp, the Obstetric Unit at Salisbury District Hospital and the Health Visitors Service.

Location of Health House (Haig Centre)
As you come into Bulford Camp from Amesbury direction (A303), turn left at the Petrol garage. Follow the road for approximately 200 metres (past the Beeches) and you will pick up the signs for the Haig Centre on your right hand side. Health House is the bungalow located on your right side as you enter the Haig Centre car park.
Child Health Clinic For healthy under 5s. This clinic is held in Health House at the Haig Centre, Bulford Camp every Tuesday morning from 0930-1200 hrs where Health Visitors will be happy to offer advice on all aspects of child care development. No appointment is necessary, however, the 6-8 week check for the Doctor can be arranged via the Health Visitors.
Family Planning
Confidential and comprehensive advice is avilable from the Doctors or Nursing Staff during normal surgery times.
Health Visitors
Health Visitors are avilable for advice by telephoning 01980 633331 between 0900-1000 hrs Monday to Friday or at the Child Health Clinic on a Tuesday morning. Alternatively you can leave a message on their answer phone.
Child Immunisation Clinics
This clinic is held on Thursday mornings at the medical centre but appointments are arranged by child health department and sent out by post.
Repeat Prescriptions
If you require long term medication your Doctor may give you a Repeat Prescription Form which you can use to obtain further supplies of your medication without seeing the Doctor, provided it is within the review date period. The form should be handed to the Dispenser at least 48 hrs before you require the medication showing which medication you require.
Medical Examinations
Specialist Medical examinations can be arranged for HGV, Pre employment and school. Please contact the receptionist for an appointment.
