The Group Practice at Bulford The Group Practice at Bulford looks after Service Personnel and their Families in the Bulford area. It is staffed by a mixture of military and civilian administrative staff, nurses, doctors and medics. The practice is also involved in training qualified doctors (Registrars) to become General Practitioners.
The families of Service personnel who live within 2 miles of the practice may register. This includes husbands, wives and children (under the age of 18 years) who are normally resident with the Serviceman/woman, but does not extend to visiting relatives.
Visitors and friends visiting Service personnel should contact one of the two practices in Amesbury or those in Durrington, under Temporary Resident arrangements.
Although the Ministry of Defence funds the practice, the care we provide is fully integrated into the local National Health Service and the practice has close links with other civilian practices through the local Primary Care group. Local NHS trusts, like SDH in Salisbury provides a significant amount of the care needed by our patients. Some military patients, however, may be referred to Ministry of Defence Hospital Units (MDHUs), such as Royal Hospital Haslar in Gosport.

Our receptionists are at the surgery to assist you between 0830-1630hrs Monday to Thursday and 0800-1600 hrs on Friday. The practice is closed between 1230-1330 hrs daily, except for emergencies.
Appointments can be made either in person at the reception desk or by telephone. You will normally be able to see a doctor within 48 hours.
