The receptionist or medic will be able to tell you when the next available appointment is. You may consult the Doctor of your choice, although it must be remembered that we are a Group Practice and you might be offered an appointment with an alternative Doctor if the one of your choice is unavailable.


Where possible an appointment will be offered within 48 hours. If you feel you have an urgent problem a same day appointment may be possible with the Duty Doctor; alternatively you can make an urgent appointment with one of the Practice Nurses. An appointment with the Doctor or Nurse is for one patient only.


Each appointment is allocated 12 minutes, so if you require longer or you wish more than one family member to be seen please inform the Receptionist at the time of booking.


If you cannot attend a booked appointment we would be grateful if you could inform us at the earliest opportunity, so the appointment can be made available to another patient.


The Doctors Because this is a Post Graduate Training Practice there is a frequent turnover of Doctors. Most Doctors hope to stay for at least 18 months, but can be away for periods of time on military commitments. We try to maintain as much continuity of care as possible within the exigencies of Army life.


The Nurses The Practice Nurses are here during surgery hours and are available for advice and a variety of services and minor treatments including:


• Asthma Clinic • Well Woman Clinic • Well Man Clinic • Weight Management Clinic • Smoking Cessation Clinic • Taking blood - If your Doctor has requested bloods to be taken from you by the nursing staff, please ensure you see the nurse before 1200 hrs.

Practice Manager The Practice Manager can give advice on any aspects of the practice. Contact 01980 672463.


How to contact a Doctor when the Practice is closed There is always a Doctor on call in the evening or at weekends for urgent cases at The Medical Reception Station (MRS), Delhi Barracks, Tidworth (Military: 94342 2285 or civilian 01980 602285).


Surgery for urgent cases are held daily at the following times: Monday-Friday


1630-1900 hrs Sat/Sun/Public Holidays 0930-1100 hrs 1730-1900 hrs


Please telephone the MRS at Tidworth before attending. It may be possible to get advice from the Nursing Staff and save yourself a journey.

If you want to see a Doctor, and are too ill to get yourself to the practice, please telephone before 1000 hrs and we will arrange for the Duty Doctor to discuss the best course of action.
