The Army Families Federation (AFF) is an independent organisation that provides a unique two-way communications link between the British Army and its families.


AFF works hard to improve the quality of life for all Army families, and ensure that they are in no way disadvantaged because they ‘follow the flag’. AFF represents all members of a soldier’s family (including partners and wider family) and is recognised as their representative voice. AFF is consulted by the military, politicians, the media and national organisations on issues concerning Army families.


Where to find AFF AFF can be found wherever there are Army families in the world. The hub of the network is AFF Central Office at Upavon (Wiltshire), and there are AFF Branches in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Germany and Cyprus, with volunteers in overseas locations.


AFF operates through a network of Co-ordinators who listen to and represent the views and concerns of Army families to the policy makers.


AFF Co-ordinators can also help families with their individual issues. They can provide advocacy for families and signpost to the best professional organisation to provide assistance.


Specialists AFF employs five Specialists who each concentrate on a particular area of concern for Army families, and deal with all aspects of that subject for AFF. The areas covered by the AFF Specialists are
