The highlight of the winter will be the Dubai International Racing Carnival in January 2011 and the 16th Dubai World Cup on March 26, the highlight of the social calendar in the UAE.

Hotel und Meydan Racecourse, eine Fünfsterne-Ho- telanlage mit 285-Zimmern, von der aus man einen direkten Blick auf die exklusivste Pferderennanlage der Welt hat, welche bisher das größte und längste gleisseitige LED Panel aufweist. Das Luxushotel mit seinen 285 Zimmern selbst verfügt über mehr als 1,6 Kilometer Innen-LEDS. Hinzu kommen zahl- reiche dramatische Beleuchtungseffekte. Die Luxus- Hotelanlage wurde von TAK Architects entworfen und durch ihren bedeutendsten Architekten Teo A. Khing aus Malaysia und Dubai mit atmosphärischer Be- leuchtung durch CD+M Lighting Group aus Atlanta und Dubai verbessert und kann als ein beleuchteter Juwel in der Wüste beschrieben werden. “Das Projekt ist sehr vielschichtig mit einer aus- drucksstarken Beleuchtung des Innen- und Außen- bereichs, der Landschaft und der Pferderennanlage,” so der erste Beleuchtungsdesigner Ted Ferreira. “Nachts wollten wir das Hotel und die Haupttribüne der Pferderennanlage als einen Schmuckkasten zur Geltung bringen, mit einem dramatischen Effekt aus der Besucherannäherung.” Im Inneren wurden OSRAM Tape Lights innerhalb
des niedrigen Gewölbes eingesetzt. Dies schafft ein Zickzackmuster und war die Antwort auf die Heraus- forderung des “nur wenige Zentimeter” großen Be- reichs, die dem Beleuchtungsteam durch die Archi- tekten gestellt worden ist, um die archetektonische Muschel zu beleuchten.

Il primo dei locali del distretto ad essere inaugurato lo scorso marzo è stato l’hotel Meydan Jumeirah con annesso ippodromo; una proprietà a cinque stelle, di 285 stanze, che si affaccia direttamente sull’ippodromo più esclusivo al mondo e che vanta il più largo e più lungo pannello di illuminazione al LEDche si estende lungo la pista. vero e proprio gioiello illuminato del deserto. “ Il progetto si presenta a strati multipli, con una illuminazione interiore, esteriore, del paesaggio e dell’ippodromo davvero espressiva”, afferma il prin- cipale progettista Ted Ferreira. “ Di notte, abbiamo voluto far sembrare sia l’albergo che la tribuna dell’ippodromo dei piccoli gioielli, tanto da cattu- rare in modo spettacolare l’occhio dei visitatori”. All’interno, il team d’illuminazione è stato messo a dura prova dagli architetti, dai quali è stata proposta la sfida di illuminare, con motivo a “zig-zag”,uno spazio architetturale-alcova di misure ridottissime, attraverso l’utilizzo di lampade OSRAM.

Khing, de Malasia y Dubái, y mejorada por la iluminación evocadora del CD+M Lighting Group de Atlanta y Dubái, la lujosa propie- dad es una joya iluminada en el desierto. “El proyecto tiene diversas capas, con una ilumi- nación expresiva en interiores, exteriores, paisajes e instalaciones para carreras de caballos”, comenta Ted Ferreira, el principal diseñador de iluminación. “Por la noche, queríamos que el hotel y la tribuna del hipódromo pareciesen un joyero visto como algo espectacular a ojos del visitante”. En el interior, OSRAM instala luces en la cala estre- cha, lo cual crea un diseño en zigzag que vence el desafío del espacio de “menos de una pulgada” que los arquitectos entregaron al equipo de iluminación para iluminar la estructura arquitectónica.
