Some schools use this site as a means of providing professional development to their teachers. Te site receives thousands of hits per month from teachers and learners worldwide.

Tis site provides excellent, research based information on learning and teaching music. It is the creation of Dr. Robert Duke, recipi- ent of the 2010 MENC Senior Researcher Award. Tis is a non-music site that offers hundreds of short, sequential video clips designed to teach classes in mathematics and technology, in particular. Not only is it comprehensive, but it provides a model of what could be done in other areas. It is completely free and is being widely used throughout the world, particularly in developing countries where access to schooling is limited.

Tis educational site contains an outstanding collection of hundreds of short videos de- signed for sequentially learning a long list of computer programs. You can access many of the videos for free, but to complete an entire course you will need to pay $25 for a month’s subscription. It’s well worth the price and a lot cheaper than comparable classes and books.

Tis is an outstanding example of an on-line, free bassoon method. Te videos, the music and the organization are superb.

Noteflight is a free on-line notation software program. It has an impressive range of fea- tures and can be used to create compositions from simple to relatively complex.

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. Te mission of TED is to spread ideas. Tis site houses a collection of hun- dreds of videos, many of which relate directly to learning, creativity and the arts.


Zotero http://www.zotero.org/


Zotero is an on-line citation tool that works with the Firefox web browser. It allows you to create bibliographies of articles, books, web pages, PDFs and more. It combines the best of old-style, expensive electronic citation tools like Endnote with the capacity to deal with contem- porary sources of information.
