That’ll be the summer then. Clocks go back, central heating comes on, nights are fair drawing in, bonfire night upon us, and Christmas just around the corner. How the months fly by.
So what’s in our November edition? Firstly, on a serious note, we have a tribute to our war heroes as we wear our poppies with pride. See page 17. On the same subject we have an article on Sir Winston Churchill on page 20. Secondly we must recognise the tremendous work of the Rotary Organisation in their world wide effort to eradicate polio, see focus on crocus on page 29.
Then, we have a mention of a guy who tried to blow up parliament just over four hundred years ago. Remarkably nobody has tried to repeat the attempt. Page 15.
Page 11 sees a fabulous family event of ice skating, and Christmas shopping at Oakhill College.
On Page 12 we have our “Countdown to Christmas” pages, and a pantomime picture quiz with two prizes of family tickets to see Cinderella at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre. So email your answers, somebody has to win.
