The implementation of the strategy has resulted in a more focused grant giving process. This is operated from the time of grant application, assessment and approval through to a vigorous programme of grant monitoring and end of grant review.


The Trustees consider that systematic evaluation of a project is important for a formal analysis of what has been achieved, for a chance to reflect on the experience, and to inform future work that might be undertaken. Specifically grant monitoring is undertaken both to measure the impact the Trust’s funds have made to a project and to review and determine the future funding of a project if the intention is for the Trust to support over a period of time. The interim and end of grant reviews also help to
