Padiham FC were a bit late with this report so we had to squeeze them on our Pub Page. Cheers Alan.
Padiham Football Clubs decision to enter their "A" team in the 2010 Burnley and District Summer Football League not only kept some of their players fit for the start of the normal season but also resulted in the storks winning the league title when they beat Prairie United 5-4 in the last game of the season. The storks also finished runners-up in the Summer Leagues Harry Walsh Cup competition losing out to George 1V on penalties after the two sides had finished level at 1-1 after extra-time. The same side has also reached the quarter-finals of the 2010 NHS Bird Cup competition after winning all three of its group stage matches and all before kicking a ball in anger in this seasons East Lancashire Football League. Padiham FCs First team on the other hand have had mixed results in their pre-season warm up matches but when it mattered picked up all three points from a 3-0 home win over Glossop North End in their first Vodkat North West Counties Football League Premier Division fixture of the 2010/11 season. Add to that result a 1-1 away draw against Bacup Borough and a 1-1 home draw with Colne and the storks have had a reasonable start to their league fixtures. Padiham FC Reserve side won their first Vodkat League Reserve Division fixture 2-1 at home to Ashton Athletic Reserves. Padiham FC First team home fixtures in September include games against Flixton FC on Saturday 4th September, kick-off 3.00 p.m. Ashton Athletic FC on Wednesday 8th September, kick-off 7.45 p.m. and an FA Vase game on Saturday 18th September, kick-off 3.00 p.m.
