I Never Knew That !

A Bunny Boiler. Originating from the film Fatal Attraction, the expression refers to a former lover, always female, who refuses to accept that the relationship is over, and will go to any lengths to make her man pay dearly for the rejection. Alex, (Glenn Close) goes on a vicious campaign of revenge when rejected by Dan, (Michael Douglas,) who returns home to find his daugh- ter’s pet rabbit boiling in water on the kitchen stove. ( Don’ t worry it wasn’t a real rabbit.) But this is nothing compared to another story of revenge by a, “woman scorned.” She decided to visit her ex boyfriend’s flat while he was away for a weeks holiday with his new girlfriend. She dialled the Speaking Clock in New York and put the receiver down on the table. She hid fish guts all around the flat before sprinkling watercress seeds all over the carpets, beds and furniture. She then watered the seeds and turned the central heating up full to allow nature to take it’s course. Now that’s a warm welcome home. Gentlemen, you have been warned.

Otis Redding, Jr Born: Sep. 9, 1941 Died: Dec. 10, 1967 One of the most popular and critically acclaimed soul vocalist, songwriter and musician representatives of the R&B style known as Southern soul. Legendary musician Otis Redding (known as the "King of the Soul Singers") is generally regarded as the single most influential male soul artist of the 1960s. He was one of the first artists to broaden his appeal to white audiences with a raw, spontaneous style that bore a stark contrast to the smooth, sophisticated music of Motown. Some of his legendary numbers include: "Mr. Pitiful" in 1965, "Respect", "I've Been Loving You Too Long," and "A Change is Gonna Come." The song that many consider Redding's greatest, "Try A Little Tenderness," was recorded in 1967. On Dec. 10, 1967 in Lake Monona, Madison, Wisconsin, Otis Redding along with six others were killed at the peak of his career at the age of 26 in a plane crash during a storm en route to a concert in Madison. Four months after his death, Redding would achieve his first American number one album (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" (1967) released in January of 1968 later won Redding two 1968 Grammy Awards. In 1992, a release of the CD "The Very Best of Otis Redding was issued and soon went gold after selling more than 500,000 copies. Who knows where Otis Redding's career path might have taken him. All we know is that the world lost a musical legend whose classics live on.
