Agency recruitment goes online – at last!
New online job boards specifically dedicated to the estate agency industry are hitting the web. We spoke to Ian Dobrin.

propertyjobsdirect.com (PJD) was set up by two former senior estate agency recruiters, Ian Dobrin and Sharon Mead- Blandford. The site offers direct access to estate agency jobs nationwide from both corporate and independent companies. Ian told PROPERTYdrum,
“We did a lot of research before deciding to launch an online solution and the feedback we got was loud and clear. We were told by both employers and job seekers that they wanted to have a vehicle that would directly connect them, giving the employer a clear opportunity to offer itself as
a good employer and for experienced employees to be able to choose who they would like to work for and apply directly.” “With the daily growth of the
major property portals estate agents are now accustomed to using the the power of the web for commercial reasons so it is natural that many are now most comfortable using the web to either find new staff of make a career move.”
Ian concluded, “In our first
weeks live we had signed up 56 companies who are advertising over 300 vacancies, we have had over 3,000 unique visitors with over 200 applications going directly to

the employers and the interest and site traffic is growing daily.” “Google like the concept too with PJD appearing on page one free of charge when someone searches a recruitment search phrase like ‘jobs in estate agency’ and that has to be a good omen for the future of all the dedicated property job boards.” The plethora of new online property job sites simply offers more choice and that has to be good news as estate agency comes through the recession with many employers looking to expand and recruit, but in a more efficient and cost effective way.
