The kidnappers demand a ransom which is never paid and Shergar was never found. 1990: Nelson Mandela, leader of the movement to end South African apartheid, is released from prison after 27 years.

Until the early 1960s, he had a job delivering meat along the Sunset Strip in California. He is best known for his duo in the entertainment field with his second wife Cheriln Sarkisian LaPierre.
