Please help us to find Ozzy, an 18 month old German Shepherd, missing since the 8th January. Ozzy was born and raised in Lanzarote and had only been in the country for a day when he escaped from the garden of our new house. He has no idea of the local area & has never known temperatures this low. He escaped from St Albans Road in Rishton at around 1pm on Friday the 8th January. He was wearing a red collar and is microchipped. He is very timid & likely to run away so please do not chase him. If you do see him, please ring Catherine on 07960 279983.

Tickets now available Adults £6.50 Children £4.50 from 01254-884713

Churches Together in Great Harwood

Following the tradition of the last few years Churches Together in Great Harwood is hosting a series of Lenten Lunches. Starting on Ash Wednesday, February 17th, the different

denominations will prepare a relatively low cost meal, basically soup and a roll and a piece of fruit followed by a cup of tea or coffee. By taking part in this cheap meal we are able to deny ourselves and make a donation to our brothers and sisters in

the Third World to whom such a meal could be seen as a feast. Christian Aid and Cafod will be the beneficiaries once again.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to make this worthwhile sacrifice at the Central Methodist Hall, King St, at 12.00 noon every Wednesday throughout Lent.

Friends of Memorial Park

The Friends of Memorial Park (FOMP) are holding an open meeting at Bank Mill House at 7.00pm on Monday, February 8th. Everyone interested in finding out about the current work

of the group and its plans for the future is invited to attend and will be made most welcome.

Great Harwood Rovers FC

The Great Harwood Rovers Football Club has plans to develop the Lyndon House site which include the building of a changing room pavilion, an equipment store, a manager’s office, a coach education suite and a kitchen facility along with a car parking area for approximately 50 cars. When complete the project will provide a first class sporting and leisure opportunity for the whole of the community. In addition to providing match and training facilities for its 250 junior playing members the facility will be offered out to local schools, clubs and associations for them to hold events of their own – e.g., sports days, garden parties, fetes, fundraising events, meetings, presentations and training courses. To this end the Club is circulating an “Expression of Interest” questionnaire via the Community Action Group (CAG) and is hoping to use the returned forms as evidence of wider community interest in its quest to attract funding.

The best man said he had always looked forward to seeing the bride in something long and flowing.

No he didn’t mean the wedding dress, he meant the River Ribble.
