“At CAC, we truly believe that the presence of competent and ethical coaches has a positive
impact on sport participation, performance and the lives of those they coach,” said John Bales, Chief Executive Officer of the Coaching Association of Canada. “With its growing popularity, it is exciting for us to see the sport of Ultimate join the NCCP and we look forward to working with the Canadian Ultimate Players Association on developing their coach education program.” This announcement culminates months of dedicated work from the Canadian Ultimate
Players Association and demonstrates its commitment to supporting the development of coaches at all levels of the sport. “From youth league participants to national team members, coaches play a vital role in the
growth and development of athletes,” announced Danny Saunders, Executive Director of the Canadian Ultimate Players Association. “In order to support the continued growth of Ultimate it is extremely important to have accessible high quality training available for coaches. The NCCP is known for its high quality training programs and we are excited to work with the Coaching Association of Canada to develop programs that meet this standard.” The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is a coach training and certification
program offered in both official languages across the country and is the recognized national standard for coach training and certification in Canada. NCCP workshops are designed to meet the needs of all types of coaches, from the first-time coach to the head coach of a national team. Each year, more than 50,000 coaches take an NCCP workshop and since it began, more than 1 million coaches have participated in the program, making it one of Canada’s largest adult education programs.
