Now in our 17th year
Square Dance Class
starts November 2009
We learned to dance Square Dance when
we were 50 years old, having been
introduced to it at a friend’s wedding.
Once we became pensioners we told a
former colleague about it. He came to an
open house with his wife. Afterwards they
took a Square Dancing course (he is now
70) and loves it so much that he asked
’why didn’t you tell us about it a long
time ago, we would have been able to join
in the fun before.
What exactly is Square Dance?
There are four couples who build a square and
move with the music and dance figures which
the caller tells them or sings to them. They are
always called in English all over the world – in Germany too. Therefore high concentration is needed which again is good
for brain training.
During a Square Dance evening there are about 120 small
