you!’ to all their friends and customers who
supported them on their APASA fundraiser on 21st September.
During the worst of the September downpours, the weather held for us, and we had
glorious sunshine all day, leading us to believe there really is a patron saint of dogs! The
day was a huge success, with 485 euros being raised so far, with more yet to come from the raffle and private pledges - a great
result! The money so far has bought 24 doggy-beds, rubberised matting to keep the dogs warm, dry and clean, and any
leftover will be spent on much needed food. The winner of the raffle will be notified by telephone. Again - many thanks for your
support.”
HELP VOLUNTEERS MEETING
“HELP” of Denia and Marina Alta held their annual meeting of Volunteers at Casa Holanda,
Denia, where Martyn Standing, DWP/DH Pensions Advisor, Alicante Consulate had been
invited to attend the meeting.
He gave a very entertaining and informative talk to the well attended meeting. His intention being to dispel
some of the many rumors circulate relating to health and pension issues which may be encountered by British
expats when they make the move to Spain. As new directives are received on a regular basis, he advised
people to visit the consular website, which can be accessed via a direct link from the “HELP” website,
www.helpofdenia.com, to keep up with current changes.
