TEDDYMANIA COMES TO TOWN!
Could you ‘foster’ a Teddy for
Paul Cunningham Nurses?
If you go down to the woods today…… I’m sure many of us will remember
that rhyme, well now Susan Reader fund manager for Paul Cunningham
Nurses has a house full of teddies just waiting for a new home.
Susan who has been working with Paul Cunningham Nurses since February this year
is always happy to get new ideas for fundraising and with the success of Carnation
Day May 31st behind her for this year, the current project is ‘Name The Teddy’ If
you have a shop, bar or restaurant or you belong to a club and think you could
‘foster’ a teddy, please give me a call.
How it works, Susan said, “So far we have great results and the success is in the
simplicity. We will deliver one Paul Cunningham Nurses Teddy to a bar, shop or club
with a ‘tent’ card to display. On the front of the card it explains that for 1 euro you
can guess the name of the teddy and that by ‘giving a little you can help a lot’. On
the back of the card there are 50 names to choose from and inside is the ‘secret
name’. Once the card is full, you open the envelope and the winner gets to take
Teddy home.”
Susan is always looking for new ideas and this one came from Anne and Alan of
Sunley’s Bar in Formentera – this is the local watering hole of Paul Cunningham
Nurses volunteer Eric Thomas. Eric is a lively 84 years old and joined the charity
around six months ago. Eric was the first ‘foster daddy’ and he has already delivered
an amazing 25 teddies!
Most volunteers are ‘fostering’ 5 teddies and Paul Cunningham Nurses are looking
for 50 more foster families. Many of us feel we would like to do our bit for charity but
don’t want it to take over our lives or be too much of a commitment, well, this is an
easy way to start. If just 20 people were to place just 5 teddies this will raise over
4000 euros! Could YOU be one of those 20? If you have a business and would like

we invite you to come and visit us - you will be made most
welcome. Clothes, books and especially bric a brac needed.
