Q
What are your views on tag team wrestling, is it at the time that wasn’t working. We had been kind of
just WWE who don’t really support it properly or in a lull as team for a few months, but the last month
has there been a decline in tag wrestling? we were refocused and re-invigorated - a result of
a
There’s definitely been a decline. I wish WWE
gaining maturity and experience at the highest level
focused more on developing and keeping
and being more assertive and persistent - but it was
together tag teams for an extended period. They have
devastating when I was released. However, it gave
produced some GREAT teams, like MNM, Miz and
me a new beginning and chance to refocus and
Morrison, London/Kendrick Legacy, to name a few, but
regroup and re-dedicate myself to becoming the best
would like to see more teams, just like in the 80’s and
wrestler I could be and getting back to WWE to fulfil
stay together for more than a year or two. I LOVE tag
all of the ’’Promise’’(no pun intended, haha) that I
team wrestling and always have. I’m glad to see that
know I have to offer WWE.
the titles are getting some more attention with Jericho
and Big Show now holding the titles and the focus on
the great teams in TNA.
Q
What was it like touring Italy with New
Wrestling Evolution?

What were the highlights of your feud with a
It was great to tour all over Italy and get to
experience the people, food, scenery, culture
William Regal and Tajiri and why do you think and wrestling fans of Italy. They were some of the

The highlight for me personally was working a

on Heat, which was the learning experience of a
lifetime, surreal! Getting the opportunity to work and
learn from them, as well as their willingness to
encourage us to step up and be more assertive in our
matches were things I could never thank them enough
for. We didn’t realize it maybe at the time, because we
were so new and timid, but we were presented with a
once in the lifetime opportunity and I would LOVE to
get the opportunity to step in the ring with them now,
as I am SOOOO much more mature in the ring and out
of the ring. You can’t go back in time and you never
have regrets, but I wish I could have been the worker
and performer I am NOW, back THEN.
Q
It must have been frustrating losing the Gauntlet
title match at the PPV and then beating the
former champions (Regal/Tajiri) on Heat the following
week?
a
It was frustrating to lose in our pay-per-view
debut, but Regal and Tajiri got the better of us
that night. We were under control and let our
inexperience get the better of us, but we re-grouped, re-
focused and came back for our biggest win to that date.
Q
February 2006 saw you in a number one
contenders match but then released four days
later. Why did WWE release you and was there any
prior indication that was going to happen?
a
I don’t know - it was probably just a matter of
timing and it just was one of those relationships
