PWP - Could you tell us when your debut was?
JONNY - I dunno, 96 or 97, I’ve no idea, you probably know better
than I do. Wikipedia it.
PWP - I did, that said 96 but all other websites say 97
JONNY - Well I started when I was 18
PWP - How old are you now?
JONNY - I’m 57 (laughs)I can’t remember when I made my debut, just
say 97 so that I sound younger (laughs again).
PWP - What was your training like?
JONNY - Shit. Terrible, I went to Hammerlock School of wrestling and
basically when I first went it was in about a 12 foot ring which was
absolutely awful. I basically just got into the ring with my
best mate at the time and we were big wrestling fans
and we just mucked around, copied stuff we saw on
WWF TV and pissed about. We were basically self
trained. There were a couple of guys there like
Justin Richards and Alex Shane at the time who
had been training a little bit longer than we had,
we sort of hung out with them and
did a little bit of training with
them but no-one was there per
se to teach us how to wrestle.
