Aubuchon, Eleanor
Eleanor C. Aubuchon died December 26, 2008 in Dexter, Missouri. Eleanor was born December 23, 1917. On
May 24, 1942, in Herculaneum, she married Sterling R. Aubuchon, who preceded her in death on August 5, 1987.
Eleanor supported his ministry while living in Desloge, Williamsville, Bloomfield, Malden and Cape Girardeau
before moving to Dexter. She was a retired school teacher and was a member of the First United Methodist
Church in Malden.
Blackard, Jane
Jane L. Harris Blackard died August 17, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada after battling cancer for several years. She
was born April 27, 1922. On June 29, 1941 she married William L. Blackard, a former elder in the Missouri East
Conference, who died June 13, 1995.
Bowers, Beatrice L.
Beatrice Dillon Bowers was born November 28, 1928 and died November 8, 2008. On October 1, 1938, she
married Herman E. Bowers who served charges in the Missouri West Conference for over 30 years. Herman died
September 10, 1995.
Bullock, Sharon “Sherry”
Sharon Ann Bullock died July 3, 2008 in Jefferson City, Missouri. Sherry was born August 29, 1948 at Normandy,
Missouri. On October 19, 1968, in St. Louis County, she was married to Rev. Robert “Bob” Bullock. Sherry
graduated from Hazelwood High School and Central Methodist College. She studied English and history in
Durham, England, during the summer of 1968 and earned a master’s degree from Southern Methodist University.
She supported Bob’s ministries through her many activities in the congregations including teaching Sunday
School, singing in the choir and membership in United Methodist Women. Most recently, she had done substitute
teaching. She was a needlework crafter and loved flower gardening.
Dubach, Mary Jane
Mary Jane Dubach died July 18, 2008 at her home in Faucett, Missouri. She was born July 15, 1927 in Kirkwood,
Missouri, and lived most of her life in Faucett. Mary Jane graduated from Saint Joseph Central High School and
attended Saint Joseph Junior College. She married Cornelius Dubach on September 10, 1950. He preceded her in
death on September 6, 1991. Mary Jane was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She was involved
in the ministry with her husband, Neil, until his retirement in 1989. Together they served nine appointments in
the Missouri East and Missouri West Conferences. She was a member of the Sparta United Methodist Church, the
Church Women United, and the United Methodist Women.
Holley, Erna Jean
Erna Jean Holley was born November 3, 1906 in Berlin, Germany and passed away in Long Beach, California, on
her 102
nd
birthday, November 3, 2008. Jean attended elementary school in Germany, benefited from the kindness
of Quakers during World War I, visited in Hungary when Germany invaded during World War II, and fled to Italy
where she married Rev. Herbert Holley, a United Methodist U.S. Army chaplain in 1947. They moved to Germany
where Herbert assisted German Methodist ministers and their families. Herbert died in 1962. Jean moved to be
near his family in the United States. She settled in California where she enjoyed growing flowers and fruit trees.
She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Long Beach where she participated in United
Methodist Women, Sunday School and Bible study classes.
