German, Swiss, Austrian, Int'l (FCI) CH Wallaby Ned Kelly HIC
Ned was exported to Germany as a 9 month old pup
to be a family companion for a family with young chil-
dren, dogs, cats, horses, chickens, etc., and to be a
SAR dog. he has since expanded into the German
"School Dog" program. He is owned by Anja and
Stephan Kroner of Donauworth, Germany.
Preparing for
their weekly
training exer-
cises, this
van is owned
by Anja and
Stephan
Kroner of
Donauworth,
Germany and
is being
loaded with
ACDs ready to go to SAR practice. They are the trainers and
emergency contact for the local SAR group.
Stephan preparing to send his ACD bitch, Evie, out to look for
the "missing victims". I was honored to be a "victim" for the
teams practice one Sunday afternoon. They practice in dense
woods. I hid in a depression in the ground so no dog could see
me, but had to smell me out. When they find you...you reward
each dog. Some dogs get food and some dogs have a toy that you
play with them. It is motivational training and the dogs love it!
German, Swiss, Austrian & Int'l (FCI) CH Wallaby Ned Kelly HIC get-
ting "suited up" with his SAR harness. The dogs wear these bright
vest for visual ID and also have some large bells attached to the har-
ness so that they can be
tracked throught the
woods. The handler may
be out of sight of his
dog, so the bells help
keep track of the dog.
Anja checks the direction
of the prevailing breeze
with a little talcum pow-
der before sending Ned
out to search in the
woods.
