What do you do with your dogs (i.e. herding, performance, conformation)?
Conformation though two have been herding tested and have achieved their HIC
What titles have you or your puppy buyers put on dogs you have bred?
Yarraman The Booroo has a Show Certificate of Merit which is gained on a points system
and also he has his first Challenge Certificate gained at Crufts 2009 (needs 3 from different
judges to gain a Championship title). Yarraman Dare To Rock at Coright has two Challenge
Certificates and was also BOB Crufts 2008 and 2009. She was also Best Puppy in Breed at
Crufts 2006.
What made your decision to start breeding?
I wanted to give something back to the breed and believing I had good foundation dogs I
thought I could produce some excellent stock from them. By doing so I produced Yarra‐
man The Booroo and their granddaughter Yarraman Dare To Rock at Coright, so it seemed
to work.
What caused you to pick the particular dog/bloodline(s) that you did to start your
breeding program?
The dog I chose, which was my own, descended from the original Landmaster and Sword‐
stone lines which I wanted to have in my kennel. I have remained very loyal to the Land‐
master line in particular, and in fact, have just imported Landmaster Only Believe who is a
half brother to Am Ch Landmaster Stand By Me. And he is only the second Landmaster dog
to come into the UK since Mr and Mrs John Holmes imported Aus Ch Landmaster Darling
Red in the 1980s.The bitch (Ch Warrigal Munyah Blue Yarraman) was from different Aus‐
tralian lines that I had seen in photographs and liked very much. I also very much admired
her parents and thought them to be outstanding examples of the breed (Curdeleon Blue
The Boy Wunda and Warrigal Blue Cooma). Ch Warrigal Munyah Blue Yarraman is cur‐
rently the only female ACD Champion in the UK. She is top ACD for 2007 and 2008 ‐ has
been top female every year since 2002 except 2004 when she was out of the ring having
puppies.
What dog/bitch to date is your best dog/bitch produced and why?
Yarraman The Booroo and Yarraman Dare To Rock At Coright ‐ for their wins to date and
hopefully achieving championship status in the near future
When deciding on a breeding do you outcross, linebreed, inbreed or acombination
of all?
A combination of all but I do not do close inbreeding (e.g. father to daughter) and I feel I
have achieved some success with this.
Do you breed to outside females and if so what is your criteria?
Yes. They should be hearing tested and eye tested. I don't ask for vaginal swabs for
maiden bitches but do if they have been mated in the past. They should be reasonable ex‐
amples of the breed but I do appreciate that people want to use my dogs to improve upon
the stock they have.
