Goose Busters began
in late 1999. I was
told by my friend,
Jackie who is a Dalma-
tian breeder that she
had heard from her
friend a veterinarian,
Dr.K, there was a local
corporate complex
that was having a Can-
ada goose problem.
They were wondering if
the veterinarian knew
of any dog owners that
could chase the geese
away. The company
had tried all sorts of
things to keep the geese away, but nothing worked. I knew my dogs could do that.

Being I was local, available and was working semi-full-time from home in medical billing
and computer consulting, I immediately contacted the company and set up an appoint-
ment to “demo” my service/dogs. A few days later I met up with several men in suits
on the front lawn of the property with my ACD “Dingo”. He was my first ACD and a
1992 pup from Pittsburgh, PA area (AKA: CH Jems Prized Dingo For Karen - My heart
and soul dog.) I miss him terribly. I pulled my Dingo out of the truck on a leash and in-
troduced him to the men standing around, then walked towards the lawn full of geese.
I took the leash off and told him to “go-get-em” while walking in the direction of the
geese. Dingo bounced a little, barked a little and trotted towards the lawn of geese. All
of a sudden the geese took flight. They honked and carried on all the while flapping
their way skyward. It was amazing. Even to me! And I knew my dogs could do it. After
the sky lightened up from the birds and they were gone, I called the boy back, put him
on his leash, gave him a treat and turned to see the men in suits all clapping and quite
happy with our demo. Needless to say we got that client and have them to this day,
over nine years later.

From there, Goose Busters developed into a full time company picking up more and
more clients, mostly by word of mouth. Then, with a growing company, additional prop-
erties and my aging ACDs I found the need for more dog-power. I adopted/rescued an
ACD, had a litter (my one and only) out of Rodeo/Dingo, gained pups from two other
