breed ring Zeek has won a group one and many other group placements, ranked #5 ACD 
all‐breed and also attended Eukanuba and Westminster for Best of Breed. 
 
From one coast to the other, I 
had the time of my life.  In De‐
cember when I went to Eu‐
kanuba, I knew that I was rep‐
resenting a lot  being the only 
ACD junior out there compet‐
ing in juniors this year.  So I 
took the ball by the horns and 
worked my hardest.  In junior 
showmanship I made it to the 
last cut before the final cut.  I 
was honored to make it so far 
while competing against many 
fine juniors and their dogs.  In breed, I received an 
Award of Merit on Zeek.  When I flew out to New 
York, I knew it was a different game.  Once again, I 
made it to the final cut before the judge selected 
his final four. 
 
I was ecstatic to have made it so far on such 
a non‐flashy breed.  I just want other ACD juniors 
to see that you don’t have to have a “flashy” breed 
to go far!  Its all what you make it, and its you that 
make your dog flashy.  Training is everything as 
well as patience.  There have been many times 
Zeek has out smarted me, but that is what’s so 
wonderful about this breed.  If you can train them 
to a “T” when they are puppies, then you have very 
little work to do when they are older.  Also, you 
cannot think of them as some thick‐
headed ACD.  When I show my dog, I 
think of him as a sporting breed and 
that’s what makes us flashy as a whole 
and wins 
 
As  my  aging  out  day  comes  near,  I 
hope that I have set high standards for 
our breed and made judges realize the 
potential all the great junior handlers 
in ACD’s have.
