CodeGen seeks test partners

Travel technology specialist CodeGen is looking for partners to trial its new reviews platform, which uses artificial intelligence to understand the sentiment of what is written.

Review Spotter has been

developed by the Sri Lanka-based technology firm to be “not your average review platform”. The technology was promoted at this month’s World Travel Market. Behind the scenes a powerful

ontology engine understands the meaning of what the customer has written. This allows the travel company to take that information

and build client personas based on who is writing the review, which can then be fed back into technology that generates personalised recommendations. Review Spotter integrates with

CodeGen’s Surf natural language search technology that is due to be rolled out by two travel partners next year. The technology will allow

people to be matched with relevant types of product and opens up the possibility of more-flexible product search based on review data, as well as keyword matches. CodeGen said the technology

was also “bot ready” so it can be used by the next generation of devices such as Amazon’s Echo and is ready for customer interfaces to become more voice-led. Mark Melzack, client account manager, said: “When consumers decide they are ready to use a bot,

we are ready for that.” reviewspotter.com

Booking.com launches travel agent portal to manage reservations

Booking.com has launched a booking portal for travel agents. Booking.com for Travel Agents

allows agents to manage customer reservations via a ‘dashboard’. It is an extension of the existing

Affiliate Partner Programme and is built on technology and infrastructure being developed for Booking.com for Business. Agents who join the platform

will be eligible for similar partner benefits as all Booking.com affiliate partners. “We’re pleased to offer agents

a programme that has been created just for them,” said Bryan Batista, senior director of global

partnerships at Booking.com. tinyurl.com/bookingagents
