British Airways to revive Tehran service in summer

British Airways will offer flights to Tehran this summer after a break of almost four years.
The carrier will operate six times a week from Heathrow to the Iranian capital from July 14 and go daily from the start of its winter schedule in late October. The move follows the formal
lifting of economic sanctions on Iran by the US last month. BA last offered services to Tehran through subsidiary BMI British Midland, which it took over in April 2012. Services to Tehran ceased in
October 2012 amid escalating sanctions and international pressure on Iran to cease its nuclear programme. Britain reopened its embassy in
Tehran last August. BA head of network planning Neil Cotterill said: “The recent lifting of sanctions opens up exciting prospects for Iran as a tourist destination.” The carrier will operate the
service with a four-class Boeing 777 departing from Terminal 5.
Emirates’ new Dubai link to Auckland cuts flight time to NZ
Emirates will begin direct flights from Dubai to Auckland on March 1, enabling UK passengers to reach New Zealand with just one stop. The airline currently offers
three services a day from Dubai to Auckland operating via Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. A fourth daily service flies to Christchurch.

it will also restart services to Tehran this year. Iran Air currently operates three times a week between Heathrow and Tehran. BA plans to launch 14 routes
this year, including to San Jose in Costa Rica; Lima, Peru; and San

All Delta Air Lines flights between the UK and US now offer high-speed internet access, as do all the airline’s US domestic flights. Delta operates 11 flights a day from Heathrow and one from Manchester.

BMI to operate double-daily weekday service to Munich
BMI Regional will operate daily between Southampton and Munich from April 15, with a double-daily service on weekdays. Flights will depart at 08.00 and 16.30 Monday to Friday, with departures at 09.10 on Saturday and 19.00 on Sunday. Fares start from £72.

Eurowings launches East Midlands-Dusseldorf flight
Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings will fly six times a week from East Midlands to Dusseldorf from March 27. Services depart East Midlands at 12.25 Monday to Friday and 07.50 on Sundays. Fares start from €29.99.
