Push pin heat sinks from ATS

With 108,000 possible configurations, Advanced Thermal Solutions, Inc. (ATS) now provides the widest choice of push pin- mounted heat sinks for cooling thousands of BGAs and other hot components.

More than 200 aluminum ATS heat sinks are now available with push pin mounting. The lightweight heat sinks include straight fin, cross-cut, and ATS maxiFLOW™ spread fin geometries. Over 100 fine pitch heat sinks are available for effective cooling in high airflow conditions. Another 100 sinks have coarse pitch fins, with wider fin spacing for low velocity airflow. The range of heat sinks

is sized for cooling hot components in lengths from 25-70 mm.

Each ATS push pin heat sink features pre-drilled holes for secure mounting to a PCB in industry standard hole locations. To match the application, durable plastic or brass push pins are available in lengths from 9-20 mm. Plastic pins are lighter and non-electrically conductive. Brass pins have added strength and durability for more rugged applications or thicker devices. The push pins feature a flexible barb to lock into pre-drilled holes.

ATS push pin heat sinks are pre-assembled with phase-changing thermal interface material for increased performance. Double-sided thermal tape or no TIM options are available to meet application specific requirements

www.Kyocera.co.uk Rittal wall-mounted compact enclosures

Rittal, the leading global enclosure, climate control and power distribution specialists is promoting the benefits of its top-selling, cost- effective wall boxes, details of which can be found in the company’s technical systems catalogue.

To call it a wall box however is something of a misnomer. Far from being simply a container for equipment, Compact Enclosures AE provide highly technical solutions to protect the valuable systems within. Their attributes and many benefits include corrosion resistance and a range of accessories for easy assembly as well as security and enviromentals.

The thinking and expertise behind many of these in-built innovations has been developed by Rittal

over the last 50 years of manufacturing wall boxes. Its standard and special product ranges are now widely used in a range of industry sectors, including construction, transport, manufacturing, and offshore sitings.

Yamaichi Electronics extends its M12 and Push-Pull

Connector Series with CAT6A versions Yamaichi Electronics is expanding its M12 and push-pull connector series with a CAT6A version in each series.

Yamaichi Electronics in Europe continues to work on building out its M12 product series Y-Circ® connector series Y-Circ®

P. M and the push-pull circular

M12 with X coding and in protection class IP68 Based on the familiar modular system of the Y-Cir M, in which 360° shielding and vibration protection can be added by modular configuration, Yamaichi Electronics has now completed a CAT6A version. This X-coded, IEC 61076-2-109-compliant connector permits the interference-free transmission of signals up to 10 Gbit/sec. That highlights the competence of Yamaichi Electronics when it comes to the design and production of high-speed connectors.

Push-pull with high-speed insulators

Special insulating inserts were developed for high-speed data transmission. To ensure conformity with CAT6A, the pin layout in the insulator was fully redesigned. This particular layout is available in the diameters of 12 and 15mm. So far, this is unique on the market. Even at the smaller size 12, 10Gbit/sec can be achieved. The customer can select the specific connector size in accordance with their requirements.

Industrial strength The M12 in CAT6A is also IP68 protected and meets the strictest quality standards for secure contact. The same is true of the CAT6A push-pull in IP50. This is particularly vital for demanding applications in industrial environments.

New 160W addition to Sunpower’s Mean

Well Green medical power adaptor family Sunpower has added a 160W version to their Mean Well GSM family of green medical power adaptors. This new product, named GSM160B, complies with IEC60601-1 3rd edition, EN60601-1-11 and ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1- 11 household medical regulations. With 2xMOPP level and an ultra-low leakage current of below 100µA it suits BF (patient contact) medical devices.

GSM160B is also very much a Green product, boosted by an ultra-low no load power consumption below 0.15W; this is proven by its compliance with the latest energy efficiency regulations world-wide. These include EISA 2007/DoE Level VI, NRCan, AU/NZ MEPS, EU ErP and CoC Version 5. It accepts a universal 80 – 264VAC input via an IEC320-C8 Class ll inlet with no

frame ground; a range of output voltages from 12VDC to 48VDC can be specified. The adaptor has a high operating efficiency of up to 94% and a built-in active PFC function.

Comprehensive safety features include short circuit, overload, over voltage and over temperature protection. The flame-retardant plastic case is rated to the UL 94V-0 flammability safety standard for plastic materials, and overall GSM160B has UL/CUL/TUV/CB/FCC/CE approvals. The product has a fanless design with an operating temperature range of -30°C to +70°C within a free air convection cooling environment. An LED indicator illuminates when the power supply is energised.
