The crew on Canadian National GP9RM No. 4116 takes a brief break while rolling along the backyards in Brantford, Ontario, to chat with some locals on their patio on May 25, 2011. The track was once the Lake Erie & Northern, a busy interurban connecting Galt to the port town of Port Dover on Lake Erie. By the end of the 1950s, parent company Canadian Pacifi c ended passenger service and continued freight service with diesels. Between the mid-1980s and early 1990s, CP abandoned the entire line except for a couple of miles within the city of Brantford used to serve Johnson & Johnson. CN took over the line, but in 2012 CN convinced J&J to convert to truck, leaving the last piece of active LE&N trackage silent.
