Easyjet Luton airport


is to allow travellers with Easyjet Plus membership to take a second bag onboard from March 19. The budget carrier said those travellers that have purchased the £149-a-year membership or a flexifare, or who have purchased front seats or extra legroom seats, can take advantage of the additional allowance.

has reported record sales for January with a 7 per cent year-on- year increase. The TMC achieved a new company record in January by securing the top four selling days in its history with combined sales of more than £10.8 million.


Sun-Air


the Danish franchise partner of British Airways, is to operate a new route between Cambridge and Gothenburg from 2 March. The eight flights a week are served by a 32-seat Dornier 328 jet.

reported record passenger numbers for January compared to the same month last year. The airport’s traffic figures showed an 11.3 per cent rise compared to the same period in 2014. It comes after 10.5 million passengers used Luton in 2014 – an 8.3 per cent increase from the previous year and the highest in its 76-year history.


EUROSTAR


has recorded growth in passenger numbers and sales revenues for 2014, helped by a rise in business travel bookings. The cross-channel operator saw its passenger numbers rise by 3 per cent year-on-year, with sales revenues increasing 1 per cent to £867 million. The number of Eurostar business travellers increased by 4 per cent compared with 2013.


Qatar Airways


is to launch a service to Durban and increase frequencies on its Cape Town and Johannesburg routes at the end of this year. Starting from 17 December, Qatar will launch four new weekly flights to Durban via Jo’burg. Qatar Airways will also up its services between Doha and Jo’burg from ten weekly to twice-daily from 17 December, and increase its Cape Town service to daily.


Heathrow Express


has released a new app, with a feature that removes the need for printed tickets. It can be used to book and display tickets, and provide live service updates and next-train departure times on the route between the airport and Paddington station.
