latinum Property Partners (PPP) is a successful franchise that enables both novice and seasoned property investors to build a sustainable, profitable and life-changing business. Its tried-and-tested business model maximises rental income from specialist buy-to-let shared housing for young professionals. Consequently, PPP franchisees enjoy a lifelong income stream that replaces or supplements a salary, provides a rewarding addition to standard pension provision, creates a substantial inheritance for loved ones and affords more free time for franchisees to do the things they enjoy.

Launched in 2007 by entrepreneur Steve Bolton, PPP now has more than 200 Partners operating in 90 towns and cities across England and Wales, a 35-strong team at head office in Bournemouth and a nationwide network of coaches, mentors and property experts.

In 2013, Liam Gallagher found himself

at a crossroads in his career. The prospect of staying in the corporate world, and therefore being away from home on a regular basis, no longer appealed and so he started to look for alternative opportunities. Based in Warrington, Liam is married to Claire and has three children, Matilda, Brodie and Beatrice.

In an early instalment of his Partner Diary, written just days after he joined in March 2014, Liam recorded his experience of discovering PPP. “I feel like a real weight has been lifted off my shoulders and that we now have a plan for the long-term future. I am confident that we can achieve a sufficient level of income that will enable us to enjoy a better work/ life balance and for me to be able to spend more time at home, which was something that I never achieved in the corporate world. I had always like the idea of being in

business for myself, but wasn’t necessarily excited by the prospect of being by myself. As I had experience of working with licensing businesses (Walt Disney and Iconix), franchising was of obvious interest and so I went to the National Franchise Exhibition at the NEC in February. Having walked around the show and collected various catalogues, it was time to rest my legs and have a coffee. At this point, I stumbled across a presentation just as Franchise Partner Tony Bennett was taking to the stage. I listened to him talk about PPP for 15 minutes and it touched on all the concerns I had about franchising in terms of the typical model. After that it was very difficult to consider a traditional franchise and I returned back home and said to Claire: ‘I think we might have found something here’.

“We thought: ‘If they’ve done it, so can we!’”

As Claire had not attended the show with me, I had to convince her that this was the right opportunity for us. Initially, all she could see was that we had to pay a franchise fee and then start buying properties and, in part, I agreed with her. Surely something so completely different wasn’t quite right? As such, I effectively began my PPP due diligence at this point and, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t find any skeletons! I continued through the PPP process alone with Claire remaining cynical about the whole thing and unable to come to the Discovery Day. I returned from it even more enthused, however. Listening to existing Partners’ stories and their backgrounds only convinced me further that this was the right thing to do. Furthermore, I was impressed

with the calibre of the people who were already doing it, particularly of those that came from the financial sector, since they must clearly know what they’re doing! The absolute turning point for Claire was our Directors Meeting and speaking with existing Partners, Tony and Angie Mott. Their situations, both personal and professional, rang so true with ours that we thought: ‘If they’ve done it, so can we’. The whole process has been straightforward and easy-going. We’ve been under no pressure at any time to make a quick decision and PPP have been willing to provide all the information we have asked for. I’m really excited about the future and am raring to go.”
