Belmonte may not have a PBA career... or, at the very least, one that has been so impressive. True, Belmo has excelled in recent
“majors” — winning the 2013 and 2014 USBC Masters, and the 2014 Barbasol Tournament of Champions — but it was the compressed schedule of the World Series that made traveling to America more affordable and palpable for the “two-handed” bowling wonder from Down Under. Rather than being away from home and his family for months at a time, Belmonte could relocate for only a few weeks and still have a shot at multiple titles and significant prize money.

TOUCH FOR VIDEO He has made the most of it, earning
$205,120 in the first five World Series — more than any other player, and making him one of eight bowlers to have reached six figures in WSOB prize
money. After debuting in greater Detroit in
2009, the next four WSOBs have been conducted at South Point Bowling Center in Las Vegas. Championship
