BH Mallorca ‘will offer something special’ to the youth market

BH Mallorca will offer a holiday experience for young people not available elsewhere, according to the managing director of parent firm Cursach Hotels. Katy Sayburn claims no other product gives young people something to do in the day and believes her BH Mallorca will fill a gap in the market. “One area where nobody is doing anything special in terms of hotels is the youth market,” she said. “You have two leaders in the

youth market but all they do is concentrate on the night offering – one of those is Ushuaia Ibiza and then you have Mallorca Rocks and Ibiza Rocks. They both

focus on the night time and they are brilliant at that. But there is nothing to do in the day time. “If you’re a travel agent trying to sell a holiday to young people, you haven’t got a lot of specialised options. There are brands catering for the market, but no products wholly focused on it.” Sayburn said there was an array of products for the couples and family markets, but nothing for young people. Before putting together the plans for BH Mallorca,

Sayburn and her team ran focus groups with young people. She said the property would

offer facilities that younger holidaymakers want, such as free Wi-Fi, air-conditioned rooms and things to do during the day including an on-site water park and areas in which to listen to DJs.
