Cursach Hotels to turn Mallorca Rocks complex into BH Mallorca

A new hotel is to open on the site of Mallorca Rocks next year. Spanish firm Cursach Hotels

Group will take over the two Mallorca Rocks Hotels at the end of the summer season after hotel operator Ibiza Rocks Group announced it was withdrawing from Magaluf. The Mallorca Rocks complex, which currently comprises two properties, Mallorca Rocks 1 and 2, will become BH Mallorca. It will undergo a €15 million refit and reopen in May next year.

Cursach will also operate

two other hotels on the site next year, Club B and Club B Hostel – formerly Fiesta Sahara and Fiesta Magamar – and they will have different price points and inclusions. Katy Sayburn, managing

director of Cursach Hotels, said: “Palladium Hotels (the owner of the Mallorca Rocks hotels) approached Cursach Hotels Group last summer to see if they would

BH Mallorca is looking to work with as many operators as possible and is already on sale through Jet2holidays. The hotel is in talks with Tui,

Monarch and Thomas Cook. Katy Sayburn, managing

director of BH owner Cursach Hotels, said agents would be key to the success of the new hotels, adding: “It’s selling very well and Jet2 is doing particularly well with group bookings so far.” “We are working with everybody

It is Cursach’s first foray into the hotels sector, having been a leader in leisure facilities in Majorca for many years, Sayburn said. The renovation

of the two parts of the site will see a

new over-18s water park

with “white-knuckle” slides. There will also be a new area called the Island Beach Club (shown here on the right side of the picture). Sayburn, formerly of Monarch Travel Group, said the current facilities would be refurbished. “This will be a great chill-out

they have everything they need in terms of entertainment included. “This is great for the agents that sell it because young people want to know exactly what they are paying up front. It makes everyone’s life easier.” Jet2holidays offers seven nights at BH Mallorca from Belfast on May 8, 2015, for £399. Club B and Club B Hostel will be
