INFRARAIL REVIEW
Infrarail Awards 2014
Innovative businesses saw their hard work recognised at the Infrarail Awards on 21 May, which rewarded excellence both out on the rail network and inside the exhibition hall. Adam Hewitt reports.
M
ore than 150 people were at the Infrarail Awards this year, which was a great chance to celebrate the successes of Infrarail exhibitors.
RTM was the headline sponsor of the event, and footballing legend Kevin Keegan entertained guests with anecdotes about his time playing for and managing some of the biggest clubs in the country, but also revealed that as a Doncaster lad, he grew up with railway heritage all around him.
RTM’s Roy Rowlands, a Trustee of the UK Rail Industry Training Trust (UKRITT) gave a keynote speech at the event, explaining more about the Trust’s successful fi rst year, its programme of Gen Y Rail events, and the money raised so far.
He said that UKRITT is seeking to put in place a full board of Trustees to guide the organisation’s work and strategy, and encouraged anyone interested in being considered to email him: royc@
