LOGISTICS FEATURE Time-critical overnight delivery boosts e-retail

Specialist time critical logistics provider BDA (Bespoke Distribution Aviation) has secured a foothold in the B2C sector, working with cosmetic health supplement supplier Neways. The deal will see BDA transport

hundreds of parcels from its air hub in Maastricht into Coventry Airport in the UK, five nights a week. The goods will then be connected to BDA’s In-Night delivery network for next-day distribution to residential addresses throughout the UK. BDA will be responsible for Irish deliveries which will depart from BDA’s Dublin air hub nightly. Neways is an international supplier of

healthcare supplements sold directly by agents in over 29 countries. The company manufactures its products in the US and delivers into Europe, Australia, Japan, China and Korea. Taking a time critical approach to e-retail distribution will enable Neways to deliver goods overnight to its network of agents in the UK, ensuring that the company is consistently responding to product demand from consumers. The deal comes at a significant time in

the e-retail market which grew by 16% in the UK over the course of 2013,

according to the IMRG. With UK customers expected to spend up to £107 billion online in 2014, BDA is well positioned to help e-retailers keep up with a demand for instant deliveries. “Time critical, overnight delivery of

goods has a major part to play in the B2C sector with consumers demanding instant access to their shopping at the click of a button,” says Steve Court, sales and marketing director at BDA.

“We are well placed to accommodate

daily pan-European time critical deliveries with our extensive end-to-end supply chain network connecting airport hubs throughout the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe, ensuring that retailers consistently respond to consumer demand.” BDA is already achieving a 99% success

rate for on-time delivery of goods into the UK for Neways after only working on the contract for a short time. European purchasing manager for Neways John Heuer has reported cost savings since appointing BDA to its UK network. “Neways appreciates the flexibility the

new service is giving us and the fact that the BDA team worked closely with us to ensure our transition was as smooth as possible,” explains Heuer. “We are looking forward to continuing

the partnership and intend to implement additional services to boost the e- business and customer satisfaction in the UK and Ireland.”
