mates Mackenzie Lank (Lewiston, N.Y.), Anna Bauman (Duluth, Minn.), Anna Hopkins (Bis- marck, N.D.), and Tina Persinger (Fairbanks, Alaska) had a solid first half of the round robin, winning three of their first four games, but lost one game too many and was unable to advance to the playoffs. Te team finished on a winning note as they


defeated playoff-bound Russia, 8-7, to wrap up the round robin. Te win improved the U.S. to 5-4, which equated to a sixth-place finish. In the women’s playoffs, Korea (7-2) and Cana-


da (7-2) met in the Page 1-2 game with the Cana- dian ladies, led by Kelsey Rocque, moving on to the final with a 7-6 victory. In the Page 3-4 game, Sweden, which defeated Switzerland, 7-6, in a tie- breaker match to get into the playoffs, slid past Russia, 5-4. Tat set up a semifinal matchup be- tween the Swedish ladies and Korea. Te Korean team prevailed and marched into the gold-medal game to face Canada. Russia got revenge for the earlier playoff loss to Sweden in the bronze medal
