Good Eats IN SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA


Chunky Apple Cake

INGREDIENTS 1⁄2 c, butter


2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla


2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda


1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. ground cinnamon


4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced


1 c. walnuts, toasted


Cream Cheese Frosting 1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese 1 1⁄2 c. powdered sugar 3 T. butter or margarine


1 tsp. vanilla extract DIRECTIONS


Stir together first 4 ingredients in a large bowl until blended. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients; add to butter mixture, stirring until blended. Stir in apple slices and 1 cup walnuts. Spread into greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350°F. for 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in a pan on a wire rack. Spread with cream cheese frosting, sprinkle with walnuts if desired. Store in refrigerator.


Nanoo’s Cowboy Beans

INGREDIENTS 1⁄2 lb hamburger


1 c. onions


1⁄2 c. barbecue sauce 2 T. brown sugar


1 tsp. mustard 2 cans pork and beans A good dash of Tony’s Chacere’s


DIRECTIONS Cook hamburger and onions until done. Drain. Add everything else and cook for about 10 minutes on low heat
