2013 has seen a continuing increase in job fl ow within the South West market. Sectors which were slower to recover from the economic downturn such as manufacturing and engineering have begun to recruit again. Conversely, the fi nancial services market which was by far the busiest during 2012 has slowed a little, although still makes up a large proportion of the roles in the South West. Growth has been good across the region; whereas the majority of roles in 2012 seemed to be with the


large corporates particularly in


Bristol, this year has seen an increase in SME business.


The demand for more specialist skill sets has been high this year, and all point to good growth for a range of businesses. We have placed a number of multi- lingual


accounts staff into various


Financial Shared Service Centres within the region, as companies expand their international markets. There has also been demand for experienced fi nancial bid modellers and corporate fi nanciers, as certain companies look to gain market share through winning new tenders or making acquisitions; all positive signs of a continuing economic recovery within the South West going into 2014.

The fl uctuations are predominantly based on the size and sector of the organisation. We have not included non salary related benefi ts in the survey.
